Area Description
Kalamitsi
The small village of Kalamitsi consists of two different parts with different names, they are called Kalamitsi Alexandrou and Kalamitsi Amigdali, when one village stops the next one begins. The village lies in the beautiful green Apokoronas area (between Souda and Rethimnon) not far from Vamos, Vrysses and Georgioupoli. In the village is the church of the Holy Trinity, in the cruciform style with a dome, and a large Ottoman water tank, known as Softas.
